Arrays are manufactured using highly precision etched silicon wafer V-Groove technology providing exceptional control of fiber-to-fiber pitch and linearity, in conjunction with a silicon lid enabling sub-micron accuracy. The V-Groove chips provide a multi-fiber housing that is exceedingly lightweight, low profile and highly robust, designed for next generation high performance photonic devices.

The V-Groove array assemblies are available with Single Mode, Multimode and Polarization Maintaining (PM) fibers, precise passive alignment of individual fibers, fan-out arrays or fiber ribbons to standard industry connectors, custom fiber spacing and angled polish end-face in vertical or horizontal direction, hermetic seal and high temperature options. Designed and manufactured for a wide range of applications in Telecom, Data Transmission and Switching, as well as High Power Fiber-Coupled Diode Laser Arrays and a host of General Fiber Optic Instrumentation.

Note: In most fiber optic applications, precise fiber alignment is extremely critical. Even a 1µm alignment error can lead to substantial energy loss. V-Grooves provide a way to manufacture assemblies with precision alignment of fiber optic arrays. Alignment accuracy with silicon V-Grooves is < 1µm (fiber dependant).
